Who Is Mauro Panaggio?

I have had much experience in the basketball coaching field, having been successful at the high school, collegiate, and professional levels. My .683 winning percentage over a 40+ year coaching career is among the top in the coaching field.

Early Career

My thirteen year high-school record includes 220 Wins and 48 Losses with 11 League Championships and two second place finishes. In nine years of coaching at SUNY Brockport my teams won four SUNYAC Championships and two NCAA College Division III Eastern Regional Championships, advancing each time to the Final Four of the NCAA National Championships.

1975 – A finalist for National College Division Coach of the year
1978 – Inducted into
SUNY Brockport Athletic Hall of Fame as Player and Coach
2002 – Inducted into
NY State Section V Hall of Fame as Player and Coach
2002 – Inducted into
New York State Basketball Coaches Association Hall of Fame

.The Pros

As a head coach in the Continental Basketball Association, the official development league of the NBA at that time, my teams won six division championships, with four appearances in the final championship series, and two league championships. I am one of the only two coaches to be named CBA Coach of the Year three times. I am also the all time winningest coach in CBA history with a record of 431 wins and 257 losses.

With a teaching background at the high school and college level, I have approached coaching with a strong teaching emphasis. It is my belief that the coach cannot be separated from his role as a teacher if he is to be consistently successful.

I invite you all to learn from my experiences and share with me yours in order to aid in the progress of the great game of basketball.
